Star Student: Hayden

Hayden was our Star Student this week and he did such an AMAZING job presenting all of his photos to the class! Hayden even shared some of his teeny tiny baby clothes with us. Hayden's Mom and Dad joined us for this special time and brought the class a yummy healthy snack of apples and grapes. Thanks again Hayden and family! Great job!

Peyton's Nana reads to us!

We were so lucky to have Peyton's Nana come in to read to us today! She read 3 books to the class and joined us for lunch.

She is also going to come with us to the Zoo! Thanks again Nana! It's always such a special treat to have guest readers!

Valentine's Day!

The kids had so much fun exchanging Valentines and sharing their Valentine boxes. Everyone did such a great job decorating their boxes!

Star Student: Scout!

Scout was our Star Student for the week of February 13th. Scout is a very sweet and creative girl. She is a great reader and enjoys chapter books. She also loves to write stories. Her parents joined us to celebrate her special day and brought in yummy granola bar treats!

Children around the World

The kids did such a great job on their "Children Around the World" at-home project! We all learned so many new and different things about different countries. Students really enjoyed presenting their facts and getting to answer some questions from friends. This is a picture of our awesome bulletin board with everyone's project! Thanks to all the parents and grandparents who helped their child do this project. If you are from another country or know a lot about another country and would like to come in and share with the kids, just let us know- we'd LOVE to have you come in!

Emma's Grandpa shares about Guyana!

We had a very special visitor come in to class to teach us all about the country of Guyana. Emma's Grandpa taught us about where Guyana is, what the culture is like and the land.

He shared a very informative powerpoint with the class and they loved it. All of the kids want to visit Guyana now!

Star Student: Hailee!

Hailee was our Star Student last week and shared her pictures and yummy brownies with the class on Friday. Hailee loves to read and write and is very fashionable! Hailee is such a sweet girl and has lots of friends in class. Great job Hailee and thanks to her parents for joining us and for the brownies!

Star Student: Peyton!

Last week, Peyton was our Star Student. Peyton is such a sweet girl who always does her best work in class. She loves to read and write and has lots of friends in class. Peyton shared her pictures on Friday and the class was really amazed when she showed a picture of her sitting atop a real alligator! She sure is brave! Thanks to Peyton's mom for joining us and bringing in some delicious cheeses and fruit. Yay Peyton!

The class was very excited to celebrate our 100th DAY OF SCHOOL on Friday, February 3rd. The students brought in 100 objects from home and grouped them into piles of 5, 10, and 20. We have had so many fun activities and moments so far this year and we are so proud of each of them for all their accomplishments. We are looking forward to many more celebrations as we continue to Sail The Seas of Success in First Grade!!!
