Reader's Theater

We have begun rehearsing Reader's Theater in our class! Reader's Theater is when we read a story script using expression and fluency. The kids are so excited to perform these stories for you. We will be setting a date for our performance soon and we'll let you know ASAP. The stories that we will be performing are Rumplestiltskin, Click, Clack, Moo, Cows that Type, The City Mouse and Country Mouse, and The Three Billy Goats Gruff. We are so excited to celebrate our reading growth by performing Reader's Theater! *Please practice the script at home with your child and send them back everyday to rehearse in class.*

Robert Munsch

We have been reading a lot of Robert Munsch's hilarious books in class. Robert Munsch is well known for his fun storytelling methods, with exaggerated expressions and acted voices. He makes up his stories in front of audiences and makes them just right by traveling all over to tell them to children. He has said that "It takes 200 tellings for a story to get good." He has written over 50 stories and is one of Ms. McAvoy's favorite authors. :)
