Brooke was our Star Student this week and she shared her photos and some yummy fruit today in class. Brooke is such a sweet girl who always tries her best in class. She is a friend to everyone and is an amazing artist! Her drawings are better than Ms. McAvoy and Mrs. Ridout's! Brooke's mom joined us today and brought yummy blueberries, pomegranate and mango for a treat. Thanks again to Brooke and her Mom!

Dr. Seuss Flag Raising!

All of the Alimacani 1st graders did an amazing job at the Flag Raising performance today! We paid tribute to the one and only Dr. Seuss on his birthday by singing a fun version of the Happy Birthday song that got everyone singing and dancing in the courtyard. We also had some students read some of his most famous quotes. Everyone did an amazing job- and hey, we pulled it off on the week of our Zoo field trip! Kudos to all of our students and our awesome 1st grade teachers!!!;)

Special thanks to all of our parents who joined us and to Mrs. Paxton for taking these pictures- you rock! :)

Hayden's Mom and Dad joined us for this special time and brought the class a yummy healthy snack of apples and grapes. Thanks again Hayden and family! Great job!

Peyton's Nana reads to us!

We were so lucky to have Peyton's Nana come in to read to us today! She read 3 books to the class and joined us for lunch.
She is also going to come with us to the Zoo! Thanks again Nana! It's always such a special treat to have guest readers!

Children around the World

The kids did such a great job on their "Children Around the World" at-home project! We all learned so many new and different things about different countries. Students really enjoyed presenting their facts and getting to answer some questions from friends. This is a picture of our awesome bulletin board with everyone's project! Thanks to all the parents and grandparents who helped their child do this project. If you are from another country or know a lot about another country and would like to come in and share with the kids, just let us know- we'd LOVE to have you come in!
