Another Visit From Grammy!

Paige's Grammy came in for another wonderful lesson. Today she read a book to the class and then shared examples of types of birds, nests, feathers, and birdseed. The students enjoyed exploring the nests and learning new facts about birds. Grammy also brought pots and birdseed for each student to plant some seed to see if it will grow. As always, Grammy finished with a yummy treat of jello & cookies. A big thank you to Grammy for coming in to share theses interesting lessons!

A Visit From AMAZING AUTHORS!

A huge thank you to our fabulous PTA for funding a visit from Janet Stevens and Susan Stevens Crummel. Our class loved all of their books that we read in class. After a class vote, we found out that "The Great Fuzz Frenzy" was our class favorite. The students enjoyed interacting with these authors/illustrators and loved seeing how they piece together their ideas and pictures to make their amazing books.

Hayden even got pulled up from the audience to act as one of their book characters from Cook-a-Doodle-Doo! They also used different puppets to act out their awesome books!

Star Student: Ansley!

Ansley is so sweet and always does her best work. She is a great runner and enjoys running the track at recess. She is also a super reader! Ansley's parents joined us for her special Star Student time and brought delicious donuts and water for the class. YUM!

Guidance Lesson with Ms. Conlon!

Today, our guidance counselor Ms. Conlon, came in to teach us a lesson about Respecting each others' differences. She taught us that even though we may be alike in many ways, there are differences between all of us and that that is ok. We should treat each other with respect no matter if someone thinks, dresses, or acts differently than you do.

This lesson goes hand in hand with our recent lessons on Dr. Martin Luther King, jr. who wanted us all to respect each other no matter what. Each child drew a "Me" picture and then Ms. Conlon held them up and everyone guessed at who it was!

Star Student: Sunny!

Sunny was our Star Student last week and shared her fun pictures with the class on Friday. Her Mom and Dad both joined us and brought some yummy brownies! The class really loved it when she shared a picture of her dog Porkchop (who is an English Bulldog) and Newman (who is half Pomeranian and Maltese- think tiny!) they are staring at each other in the picture and it is so funny! Thanks again to Sunny and her Mom and Dad for the yummy treats!
